Welcome to your weekly round-up of everything I’m loving.
Dear reader,
You should have seen the SCREAM I scrumpt when I saw this story pop up on my feed.
Ok, so do you remember the armless, legless cornhole player who told us to never underestimate what disabled people could do and then we apparently underestimated him because he was able to allegedly kill his friend while driving?
Well, I didn’t expect to see ANOTHER person missing a limb going viral in their car, but here we are. Hopefully it’s not problematic to compare the two, but who cares, I’m already problematic for half of the world.
So this time, a woman got pulled over by a cop for driving and texting with her right hand.
But guess what, she doesn’t HAVE a right hand, just watch:
When she said “hand to God,” I about lost it.
Anyway, all hilarity aside, this story has now grown to be a bigger conversation about policemen needing to hit quotas in pulling people over, cops being able to admit when they’re wrong, and building trust with their community.
Now, this woman could have had her ARM on the steering wheel and been texting with her left hand, who knows, but she decided to fight this, posted about it on TikTok, shared the bodycam footage, and the internet started cheering her on.
And at 6pm the night before her hearing, the charges were dropped:

And while I get it, I mean, I’ve had my own run-ins with policemen when I’ve gotten pulled over for something that was not illegal - and thankfully my Tesla at the time had recorded it and I was able to show that, I also CAN’T IMAGINE being that cop.
His speechlessness was understandable, but what would have been better is if he had just laughed and let it go, because now he’s Cop Public Enemy number 1 online.
All of this also reminds me of the Justin Timberlake DUI arrest from 2024 and the footage that subsequently came out just a couple of months ago.
Those cops became icons because of how hilarious the situation was. It was so perfect that the young man who happened to arrest him had NO idea who he was and Justin just kept saying, I'M DOING A WORLD TOUR.
I swear, bodycam footage like this, celebrity court cases, legal drama, it’s kind of become my favorite genre of content online. Lucky for us, it seems never ending.
Recommendation of the Week:
So Alex and I finally took the plunge and stopped co-sleeping with the baby. It was a LOOONG process helping him get comfortable with his bed and being able to sleep without me, and then an even harder process to convince him that 9:30pm maybe wasn’t an acceptable bedtime for an 8 month old baby, BUT WE FINALLY DID IT.
And so now, he’s going to bed at 7pm and Alex and I finally have our evenings back. It’s been so crazy, we haven’t even known what to do with ourselves, but we HAVE started watching movies again. First time in so long.
So two nights ago, we watched Tom Cruise’s THE LAST SAMURAI. OMG, it was so good and moving but wow, it made me depressed. In a lot of ways, it helped inspire the video I did on American cities losing their character and culture because the film is about just that. Samurai fighting to preserve Japan and protect it from an exploitative Western takeover. And sadly, while they go down with their dignity, they aren’t successful.
It felt so relevant to our modern era in a myriad of ways, from the corporate takeover of cities, to mass migration taking over our country. Plus, if you are a parent, there are a couple of little boys in the film that literally made me cry because I missed my son who was in the next room over, LOL!
Anyway, HIGHLY recommend, and I’m so glad Alex encouraged us to watch it.
Talk soon,
BC
